The fans and casual watchers of the popular 1990s and early 2000s show Friends mourn the death of actor Matthew Perry. The news of the actor’s passing broke on Saturday night, leaving everyone shocked.

Perry was an actor most known for his role as Chandler Bing in the mid-90-early 2000s show Friends. He was 54 years old and had released his memoir called Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir on November 1st, 2022.

According to sources, Matthew Perry was found by authorities in his Los Angeles home, unresponsive in his hot tub. According to the law enforcement there was nothing in his system and no foul play was reported.  “This is such shocking news,” states Avery, a long-standing fan of the show. “I loved watching Friends when I was younger, and it always made me laugh.”

Due to Perry’s age, it came as a surprise to many when they had heard the news, most of them not expecting to lose an actor from their favorite show so suddenly. All forms of social media are filled with condolences as well as people’s favorite videos and pictures of the actor.

“It’s a shock. I mean, he was only 54 years old so I couldn’t believe it at first,” says Haya, a fan of the show. “Whenever I have nothing to do, I always put on an episode of Friends, and he played one of my favorite characters. I just can’t believe it.” Many fans did not even know about the news until much later, leaving them shocked at how sudden the news was. There was no cause of death cited when the news broke so the case was still under investigation.
